Premier League Review – Matchday 28

Liverpool are a win closer to ending their near thirty year wait for a league title after they thumped Watford by five goals to nil at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Braces from Sadio Mane and Virgil Van Dijk either side of a Divock Origi strike secured the win for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are showing no signs of slowing down despite being replaced by champions Manchester City as favourites for first place.

The Reds can be backed at in May, which may tempt those who like a flutter with all but two of their remaining fixtures coming against sides outside of the top six, while those games against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are both at Anfield.

Bitesize Prediction: Tonbridge vs St. Albans – 03/09/24

Market: Tonbridge win

Odds: 21/20 @

Two sides who find themselves scrapping it out at opposite ends of the National League South table, Tonbridge will welcome St. Albans to Kent on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Tonbridge might have eventually limped their way over the finishing line last season as they had to settle for a bottom-half finish, Jay Saunders’ side have come roaring back this time around. Putting in another gritty display over the weekend as they secured a 1-0 victory at home against Salisbury, the Blues should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Battling it out at the top of the National League South table, the Kent-based outfit should be smelling the chance to make another statement of intent here. In fact, opening up the …

Man City have to adapt to get back on top – Guardiola

Pep Guardiola acknowledged Manchester City will need to change if they are to return to the top of the Premier League, though he again ruled out making January signings.

The reigning champions suffered their fifth defeat of the season at Wolves on Friday to leave them 14 points adrift of runaway leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand on City.

It means City are highly unlikely to start the new decade by adding to the four domestic titles they have won in the 2010s, during which time they also won the FA Cup twice and lifted the EFL Cup on four occasions.

Such success has transformed City but Guardiola knows the club cannot afford to stand still if they are to win more trophies.

The club in the last decade make an incredible step with differen…
