AC Milan are keen to bind Gianluigi Donnarumma to a new contract, according to reports in Italy.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper was on the verge of leaving San Siro in the summer of 2017 and he faced a huge amount of pressure from the fans, before finally deciding to pen a new deal that s set to keep him with the Rossoneri until the summer of 2021.
Italian media company SportMediaSet claim the club have now made contact with Mino Raiola, who represents the young shot-stopper, and they are ready to offer him a small improvement on his current salary. It means that, if he signs, he would be earning the sum of €6 million per year.
Donnarumma has been seen as potentially the next in the long line of great Italian goalkeepers which included the likes of Dino Zoff, Walter Zenga, Angelo Peruzzi, Gianluca Pagliuca, Francesco Toldo and Gianluigi Buffon. He has kept nine clean sheets in 26 Serie A games this season, conceding only three goals in the last 11 appearances.
